INTRODUCING FIORE
This is the story of a small apothecary, as the pharmacies were once called, which had a laboratory in the back of its shop, where skilled Maestranze worked to carry on another story, much older: handing down the precious, unique and absolutely original Sienese confectionery tradition.
It’s 1827. Italy was not yet born and in the city of Siena there were only a few Maestranze who kept the ancient secrets of medieval sweets, which were handed down from generation to generation, since 1200.
In the Farmacia Fiore, in Via di Garibaldi, the passion for spices also became a passion for the research and history of Sienese sweets. They searched, studied and catalogued the few ancient recipes found among the dusted archives. The few Maestranze left in the city were strongly desired. And so it was that the Premiata Manifattura of the Panforte Fiore was born.
